Then came the night

The night fell upon me like something unexpected.

And then there was darkness and friendly but unfamiliar faces around.
Smiles you couldn’t count on.

The clouds parted and the stars revealed themselves and the ocean was calm but not still, softly reminding me of an untamed rage that’s always there, just about right there to explode when you least expect it.
That superficial tranquillity thinly veiling the beast underneath, for the fools to be fooled, and for the men who know better, to dread.

And so the night come down upon me like a mantle covering what couldn’t be seen anymore and uncovering at the same time what shouldn’t be seen, at all.
On that very moment and in that very spot.

And then the stars were gazing upon the darkness.
